Mineola, NY. Grant-Guys Inc. is proud to announce the award of SCBA for the EAST WILLISTON, NY Fire Dept. in the amount of $202,000. The federal award will fund the purchase of 25 complete self-contained breathing apparatus for use by the department’s volunteers. The SCBA will fill each authorized riding positions on all apparatus in the department fleet. The award will replace existing 2013 units with new NFPA 2025 standard equipment and will remain NFPA compliant for the next decade. The purchase will provide for the breathing units, masks, and 50 new air cylinders. The existing SCBA currently in use were donated by a nearby FD.

This is the sixth consecutive federal award for the EWFD having been awarded a two PPE gear washers, a diesel exhaust system, facility wide alarm system, SAFER award, personal protective equipment and now a AFGP PPE award. “The federal awards alone, not-including other grant programs, has produced over $750,000 in equipment updates over the last 56 months” said Tom Devaney of Grant-Guys, Inc. “The award of six consecutive federal fiscal year cycle awards in one program, to one agency is unprecedented in Grant-Guys, 18 years of operation” he continued.
