MINEOLA VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE CORPS RECEIVE LARGE FEMA GRANT

NEW AMBULANCE IS ON THE WAY!

Mineola, NY. Rep Tom Suozzi and Grant-Guys Inc. today announced the award of $125,000 in FEMA AFGP funding the for Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

The award was prepared in April by Williston Park based Grant-Guys Inc.

The grant will fund the replacement of a 2003, 17 year old ambulance currently in service.

Niel Velasco of the Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corps (MVAC) stated, “we have applied numerous times over the years and are grateful that the peer review panel finally were convinced of the importance of this project, especially due to the enormous growth in Mineola.”

The vehicle must be delivered within 12 months and carries a local match of 5% which MVAC will be responsible to meet.

This application was prepared by Long Island based Grant-Guys Inc. “Due to the numerous years of frustration and repeatedly denied applications, we were happy to waive our usual fees associated with grant writing”, said Grant-Guys staff. We are especially proud of the award because of the many disappointments over the years with this funding. The peer review panel does not include representatives from the EMS community making the sale a tough one at times. In fact, this is one of the few ambulance awards we have ever obtained on Long Island making today extra sweet for us.”
