Mineola, NY. Grant-Guys Inc. is proud to announce the award of $177,000 in federal funds for the purchase of SCBA and one washer-extractor. Self-contained breathing apparatus will include air cylinders, units, and new NFPA compliant masks. Washers remove harmful cancer causing toxins from firefighters clothing.

This is an unusual award as two separate categories were awarded: PPE and EQUIPMENT. “This is a rarity in our world” said Director Tom Devaney of Grant-Guys. Most federal awards see items awarded in just one category. This the fourth federal award for the Smithtown FD with Grant-Guys Inc. over the last 15 years. Other awards include a SAFER award, regional SCBA award, and communications equipment. “Incredibly, these SCBA will replace previously awarded SCBA purchased under a 2012 Grant-Guys award. Amazingly, some of our longest clients are now replacing older equipment purchased through us over a decade ago!”.

The award includes the federal reimbursement of grant writing expenses.
